Childbirth and Family Education
At St. Luke's The Woodlands Hospital, becoming a parent begins when you become pregnant, and extends into the first year of your child’s life. We offer classes and programs to help you through every stage of pregnancy and to prepare you for the challenge of parenthood. Schedules, descriptions and fees for these classes are available online. New Beginnings at St. Luke’s is a special SLTWH program for new parents who do not have maternity insurance coverage.
You can view a schedule of classes online. You can also browse through our class offerings using a month-by-month calendar. When you find the class you want to enroll in, you can register and pay online.
Childbirth Educators teach childbirth classes. Our instructors provide basic facts about the physical and psychological changes of pregnancy, childbirth, and parenting. (Classes are also available at our facility in the Texas Medical Center.)
Please note that payment is required during online registration.
Classes offered include:
• Preparing for Childbirth - Weekly Series Course & Crash Course
• Family Birthing Center Tour - The Woodlands
• Breastfeeding Class
• Infant Care
• Pediatric CPR
We recommend the weekly “Preparing for Childbirth” series courses to all expectant parents. However, if you are unable to attend those series of classes, choose the shorter "crash" course. For more information, please call us at 936-266-4019.
