The physical, social, psychological, and spiritual needs of the woman and her family are central to our approach to maternity care.  In addition to providing highly individualized, professional care, The Family Birthing Center at St. Luke’s The Woodlands Hospital offers women and their families a “homelike atmosphere” within a hospital setting. We want your birthing journey to be ideal and full of memorable experiences.  Our 18 bed unit features private birthing suites that allow you to labor and deliver in the same room.  If a Cesarean birth is needed, our surgical suites are located on the same floor.  Anesthesia services are available 24 hours a day, seven days a week.  

During your postpartum period, we allow and encourage one adult to stay with you overnight.  We promote rooming-in with your infant, which allows for increased bonding between parents and infant, but a respite nursery is available on parental request. For your peace of mind, advanced infant security technology and constant monitoring promote a safe environment for you and your baby. For your added comfort we offer in room dining and complimentary WiFi connection.

A Maternal-Fetal Medicine program provides care for high-risk pregnant women and their unborn children.  The Neonatal Intensive Care Unit provides services for infants who need a higher level of care.  In addition, our healthcare team is dedicated to working in close collaboration with Texas Children’s Hospital in Houston to provide any additional levels of care if needed.
