Our comprehensive Heart Program includes diagnosis, treatment, interventional cardiology and cardiovascular surgery. We continue to expand the program and bring the latest technology and techniques to Montgomery County. Physicians have performed many “firsts” for The Woodlands at St. Luke’s, including open heart surgery and endovascular aortic aneurysm repair. The hospital also introduced the first intravascular ultrasound. There is certainly more to come.
Board-certified cardiologists refer their patients to St. Luke’s for diagnostic exams including echocardiography, exercise stress test, nuclear stress test and heart catheterization. Interventional cardiology is extensive: heart catheterization procedures, percutaneous peripheral angioplasty, stent placement, intravascular ultrasound, atherectomy, pacemaker and implantable cardioverter defibrillator insertion, electrophysiology studies, cardiac ablation, cardioversion, venacava filter placement, endovascular aortic aneurysm repair and more. If surgery is necessary, board-certified cardiovascular surgeons perform valve replacement or repair, aneurysm repair, coronary artery bypass, arrhythmia surgery and carotid endarterectomy.
If you have specific questions about the Heart Program, talk with a staff member or ask for the folder Caring for You and Your Heart.
